~ The Women’s National Top Club match away at Alton Social is booked for 10.00am on Sunday 9 June and the team selected is Jan Allen, Sarah Bowen, Frankie Brandon, Marianne Brooks, Karen Craham, Sue Dickie, Sue Dyson, Carol Eichen, Allyson Flint, Ann Guerin, Sarah Knight, Penny Orford and Donna Taylor


~ The Women’s County Thornbery Trophy match at home against Liphook is booked for 6.15pm on Thursday 6 June and the team selected is Jan Allen, Sarah Bowen, Frankie Brandon, Marianne Brooks, Karen Craham, Sue Dickie, Sue Dyson, Carol Eichen, Allyson Flint, Ann Guerin, Sarah Knight and Donna Taylor


~ The County Mixed Top Club second round match away at Alton has been arranged for 10.00am on Sunday 2 June. The selected team is Jan Allen, Harrison Ash, Karen Cranham, Sue Dickie, Sue Dyson, Allyson Flint, Terry Hart, Peter Knight, Sarah Knight, Glenn Reed and Alan Shelley. Reserves are Carol Eichen, Keith Dunstone, Ann Guerin and Graham Nicholson

~ Congratulations to our first Area Finalists of the season with Jan Allen, Donna Taylor, Sue Dyson and Allyson Flint through in the Women’s Senior Fours. They will play the final on Monday 3 June against Oakley for a place in the Last Eights of the County

~ Well done to our Men’s National Two Fours B Team this morning as they defeated Aldershot Traction A by 54 shots to 24 in the preliminary round. They now face an away trip in the first round to the winners of either Alton Social or Basingstoke Town
   

~ There are a few changes to make to our Fixture card. The New Member’s Competition will now take place on Saturday 29 June and the Fun Day will be on Sunday 14 July. The home friendly against Salisbury has been moved to Saturday 31 August

~ Tonight’s Lottery Bonus Ball was number 3 giving a sixth win for Les Brandon

~ Congratulations to Sarah Bowen, Sue Dyson, Allyson Flint and Donna Taylor who have all been selected for the third and final Bowls Hampshire Johns Trophy trial match against the Men’s Middleton Cup team to be played at 10.00am on Saturday 25 May at Banister Park BC. Jan Allen and Karen Cranham are also reserves


~ Both our A Team National Two Fours and A Team National Top Club are drawn against Whitchurch in the next round. We have arranged the Two Fours for Sunday 2 June at 10.00am at Cove and the Top Club match for the following Sunday 9 June at 10.00am at Whitchurch

~ The first round match away to Alton in the County Mixed Top Club will be on Sunday 2 June at 10.00am

~ In this afternoon’s Stan Hardman League we defeated Hawley by 47 shots to 43 in a 5 - 2 points win

~ In the Men’s County Club Championship we were due to play Howard Park at home on Thursday 23 May but they have conceded the match to put us through to the first round on 13 June when we will be at home to Aldershot Traction

~ In last evening’s Farnham and District League match we defeated Frensham British Legion by 90 shots to 52 in a 5 points to 1 win. In the updated league table we have risen to third place on 10.5 points behind Farnborough Gate and Bourne who head the league on 13 points

~ We are hosting our annual Open Fours competition on Bank Holiday 27 May and will need help please to make the day another success as well as raising money for our club charity, the Shooting Star Chase Children’s Hospice. If you are able to help on the day then please add your names to the list on the main noticeboard

~ The teamsheets for our June matches in the the Farnham and District League team are now in the Clubhouse

~ The updated Aldershot and District League tables show that in the Premier League the A Team has risen to third place on 5.5 points whilst the B Team has dipped to fifth on 4 points. The C Team are in seventh place on 1.5 points in Division 2

~ A mixed evening in the Aldershot and District Men’s League with our A Team hosting Camberley A in the Premier League and winning by 68 shots to 47 picking up 4.5 points. Also in the Premier League, the B Team visited West End A but were defeated on all rinks and by an overall score of 57 shots to 66. In Division 2 the C Team were away at Aldershot Underwood and in a close match were defeated by 57 shots to 61 but winning and drawing on one rink in a 1.5 points to 3.5 loss

~ In the County Mixed Top Club this morning we faced Pyestock at home in the preliminary round and won on all five rinks. This puts us through to an away match in the first round against Alton


~ In the Bill Lewis Triples this afternoon the final was won by Dave Green, Ann Guerin and John Guerin after they defeated Phil Money, Bob Sharpe and Sarah Bowen by 9 shots to 8

~ In the match against Burghfield this afternoon we won the Burco trophy by winning on all rinks and by an overall score of 97 shots to 72


~ Congratulations to Sue Dyson, Allyson Flint and Donna Taylor who have all been selected for the second Bowls Hampshire Johns Trophy trial to be played at 10.00am on Saturday 18 May at Banister Park BC. Sarah Bowen is also reserve

~ Tonight’s Lottery Bonus Ball was number 24, giving a tenth win for Alan Harton

~ In the Tony Allcock Trophy we were due to face Kings Park in the first round on Sunday 26 May but they have conceded the match. In the second round we will travel to play the winners of either Swanmore or Southbourne

~ This evening our A Team faced Liphook in the first round of the National Men’s Top Club, winning by 4 disciplines to 1. In the second round we will be at home to Whitchurch

~ After yesterday’s win in the Farnham and District League we are now in 6th place in Division 2 on 5.5 points

~ In the Stan Hardman League this afternoon we played away at Aldershot Underwood but the rain forced the match to be stopped after 10 ends at which point we were losing by 25 shots to 26 and 3 points to 4

~ In the Farnham and District League this evening we faced Farnborough Gate, winning and losing on one rink at both venues, but securing a 4 - 2 points win with an overall score of 58 shots to 51


~ The opening Aldershot and District Men’s League Tables have been received and show our A, B and C teams in 6th, 2nd and 6th places respectively in their leagues


~ The Tony Allcock Trophy first round match at home to Kings Park has been arranged for 10.00am on Sunday 26 May


~ The team for the Men's National Two Fours A Team preliminary round match at home to Farnborough at 6.00pm on Friday 17 May has been named: Chris Cranham, Terry Hart (Captain), Jim Marsland, Glenn Reed, Joe Sharp, John Stone, Carl Taylor and Daniel Taylor. Update - Farnborough have now conceded this match so we are through to play at home against either Whitchurch or Aldershot Traction B in the first round

~ A mixed first evening in the Aldershot and District Men’s League with our A Team travelling to Old Dean in the Premier League and in a very close match falling just short in a 61 shots to 65 loss in a 1 - 4 defeat. The B Team fared better in the same league with a home win against Mytchett A, winning on two rinks in a 61 - 47 shots win, picking up 4 points. The C Team were also at home in Division 2 but lost on all rinks in a 49 shots to 65 defeat to Hawley

~ In the second of our day competitions this afternoon, the Australian Pairs was won by Mike Allen and Ian Taylor who defeated Bill Dickie and Sue Dickie in the final by 9 shots to 5

~ An excellent start in the Stan Hardman League this afternoon, defeating Fleet United Cygnets on all three rinks and by an overall score of 72 shots to 36, to pick up all seven points

~ In the first Farnham and District League match this evening we faced Aldershot Traction. The overall score was a nine shot defeat by 60 shots to 69 and by winning and drawing on one rink we picked up 1.5 points

~ In the Norman Henderson Trophy, the first of the Day competitions this season, the final was won by Yvonne Dunstone, Ken Eichen, Peter Knight and Sue Dickie after they picked up five shots on the last end to defeat Marc Priest, Gillian Trimmer, Ann Guerin and Frankie Brandon by 8 shots to 7

~ The new season is almost upon us and we start this evening with the Pre Season Social starting from 7.30

~ Our first competition of the season has been arranged. We play Pyestock in the County Mixed Top Club and this has been booked for 10.00am on Sunday 12 May

~ The teams for the first five Farnham and District League matches have been picked and are on the notice board for players to confirm their availability

~ The Men’s National Club Two Fours competition draws have also now been published. Both our two teams are drawn at home in the Preliminary round with the A Team playing Farnborough and the B Team facing Aldershot Traction with the matches to be played by 19 May

~ The Bowls England competition draws have finally started to be published. The only one so far is the Men’s National Top Club where our A team is drawn at home against Liphook in the First round, with the match due to be played by 26 May. The B team has a bye to the Second round and will play away against the winners of Alton or Aldershot Traction


~ We have the sad news that Gordon Smith, a member between 2011 and 2013, passed away at the weekend. Our thoughts are with his family at this time
